SEE AND BE SEEN

This guide is for ChatHosts who are already familiar with the iFCam software, looking for answers to commonly asked questions about the most recent version.

Do I have to uninstall my old iFCam before installing the new iFCam v.96e?

If you are running v.96d, you should be able to install v.96e right on top of it, replacing v.96d. If you are running v.96c or earlier, we recommend uninstalling it first before installing v.96e.

I downloaded and installed v.96e, but when I run it, it still says a previous version number. What's up?

For some reason, the v.96e installation is not completely overwriting your older version. Go ahead an uninstall your previous iFCam, then install the new one.

iFCam v.96e is not alerting me when a viewer enters my room. What's wrong?

When a Guest chatter enters your room, their IP Address will be displayed in your iFCam's connected list, with a green "G" beside it. In addition, your iFCam will play the same .wav sound file you set for Voyeur View viewers. If you disabled the Voyeur View sound in a previous version, it will remain disabled in v.96e. To re-enable, simply click the "Setup" button in iFCam and change the setting for, "Is At Your Doorstep".

A guest is enjoying my Guest video a little too much. How do I block a guest from seeing the censored video?

Simply double-click the Guest Chatter's IP Address in your iFCam's Connected list. This will bring up a box asking if you are sure you want to block the video. If you choose to do so, that Guest will no longer see anything but a message advising him/her that you have blocked their video feed.

I blocked a Guest's video, but now I want him to see it. Any way to unblock?

Yep; just exit out of the iFCam software and restart it. This will clear the Guest Video blocks. (The Guest will have to either reload the page or exit your room and re-enter.)

What do Guest chatters see when they enter my room?

First of all, the new Guest interface is currently only presented in Adults-only rooms; the Guest presentation for Non-Adult rooms will be updated in the coming weeks. Guest chatters in Adult rooms see a completely remodeled and dramatically improved version of the old guest-chat interface. The new interface dramatically increases your ability to attract and retain qualified visitors to your premium videochat. Among other extras, guests are given the option to view a censored, "covered" version of your live webcam (it looks almost exactly like a "Free Membership Only" archive image). This censored display also updates at a somewhat slower rate than the live "uncovered" webcam image seen in premium videochat. Of course, it's easy to disable this feature: To block a guest from seeing your censored/covered live webcam, just click on the guest's IP address in your ifCam window (look for the green 'G').
