Answers to Questions asked by Video Chathosts: How do I set up my Appointment Book and start accepting private sessions? Setting up your appointment book involves nothing more than a few mouse clicks and about 60 seconds of your time. It's as easy as 1-2-3: Just go to the Chathost Console and select the "Private Sessions Manager" link. The setup program will ask you to do three simple things: (1) Set up your default prices, (2) set up your default times and dates, and (3) customize individual dates. It's as easy as pie, and once accomplished, viewers can schedule private sessions with you! back to top |
| How do I know when a Viewer has set up an appointment with me? iFriends notifies you immediately. We'll send an email to the VCH email address on file with us, plus your [screenname]@intimatefriends.net free web-based email account. We'll also ICQ you if you've provided us with a valid ICQ number. | Does iFriends send me reminders before the private appointment? Here's what to expect: After receiving the initial email/ICQ informing you of the scheduled private session, you'll receive "reminder" notifications 48 hours before the private session, 24 hours, 12 hours, 6 hours and 30 minutes, and a final reminder 5 minutes before the scheduled session is to begin. Each email notification contains all the details of the private session reservation, plus a custom link to click on to begin your private session. (When you click this link, you're taken to an "expedited sign-in" form specifically for your iFriends private session). back to top |
| What if a viewer buys 30 minutes, but stays for 40 minutes? Additional minutes are billed at the pro-rata per-minute rate. For example, if the viewer purchased 30 minutes for $45 ($1.50 a minute), but spends 40 minutes in your room, the additional ten minutes are billed at the pro-rata rate of $1.50 per minute. In other words, the viewer is charged an extra $15 for the extra ten minutes. back to top |
| Will I get paid if the viewer is a no-show? Yes. When a viewer books a private session, guaranteeing time with you, it's just as though they purchased a non-refundable airline ticket, guaranteeing a seat on a plane. The only exception: if the viewer is a no-show, or has tech troubles preventing him from participating in the private session, you both may agree to cancel the private and reschedule a replacement session (see Cancellation below). back to top |
| When and how do I get paid for the private? When an iFriends viewer books a private with you, the viewer's credit-card is charged immediately, and you will receive 50% of all proceeds from that private session, including 50% of all additional minutes beyond the purchased minimum. (The only way that you can lose the $$$ is if you don't show up for your private appointment). Before the actual private session takes place, you'll see your accrued dollars in the "Pending Appointments" facility of the Private Sessions Manager. After the private session takes place, you'll see the actual transaction in your regular stats report, and your next check will include your fees from the private session.

| Will I get credit if I conduct the private session outside of iFriends? To ensure accurate billing and collection, private sessions booked through the iFriends Private Appointment Book must take place on iFriends. (We set up a special private room for both you and the viewer, with custom links to that room issued in the "reminder" emails we send both parties in the days and hours preceding the scheduled session). back to top |
| Does the iFriends private-session facility support sound and other "extras"? Yes. Because your private session takes place on iFriends, you're in familiar territory, and you have access to all the goodies: sound, one-way or two-way cyberdildonics, and iFriends built-in fraud-control and expert user-tracking system. Plus, the viewer needs nothing more than a standard, off-the-shelf browser to enjoy your company. Even AOL and WebTV users can enjoy your iFriends-based private session. | What if the viewer and I want to cancel or reschedule a private session? Both you and the viewer must visit the Private-Session Cancellation Form located at http://www.iFriends.net/privates/cancel.htm, and indicate the private session number to cancel. (The private-session number is included in each private-session email reminder sent to viewers and VCHs). Note: The private will not be cancelled until both viewer and VCH have completed this form. A private session can be cancelled up until the scheduled beginning time, and for one hour after the scheduled beginning time. In the event that you and a viewer want to reschedule a private session (perhaps as a result of a scheduling limitation or a technical problem), you should both cancel the original session, and invite the viewer to book a new session. back to top |
| How is this private-session facility different from "impromptu" private sessions? An "impromptu" private session is a private session that you and a viewer may begin at any time, when you indicate a "Private Access Code" in the "Private Session" section when you're signing in your video chatroom. When you do so, any viewer can enter your room if the viewer knows the private-access-code "password". By contrast, the pre-scheduled private scheduler is the opposite of an impromptu private session, in that the viewer can schedule a private session well in advance. At the appointed time, you click on an "expedited sign-in" link that we email to you, and the viewer clicks on a similar link that we email to him, and a split-second later, you're both in your cozy and private iFriends video chatroom. back to top |
| I'm going on vacation for two days next month... To remove any specific date from your calendar, (Dec 25 for example) use the "Customize Individual Days" feature of the Private Sessions Manager, click on the day you want to remove, and deselect all the times. (To do this, click on each time while holding down the key. Then submit the form by clicking on the "Review Calendar for ...." button) Repeat procedure for any other days you wish to remove. back to top |
Answers to Questions asked by Viewers: When do I get charged for a private session? Booking a private session is just like booking a seat on a commercial jetliner. The price plan you select will be applied to your credit
card, and any necessary adjustments will be made later. For example, if the video chathost (VCH) is a "no-show", your purchase will be applied to future use on the iFriends site. Additionally, if you and the VCH agree to cancel an upcoming private session, but your credit-card has already been charged for the session, your purchase will be credited for future use on the iFriends site. back to top |

Consider the commercial airliner analogy: If you book a one-way ticket from New York to Los Angeles for $1,000, with a stopover in Chicago, and you decide to stay in Chicago for a few days, you've only flown half the distance. Both you and the VCH should go the private-session Cancellation Form, identify the session number to cancel, and submit the form. Note: The private session is not cancelled until both you and the VCH have completed this form. You can cancel a private session from the moment it's booked up to one hour after the scheduled beginning time.
